A message from Ralph (The Old One). by
rodney
Ralph's wife, June, has contacted me this evening
so that I may pass on the news that Ralph had a bit of a fall
at the Tourist Bureau where he offers his time.
He has broken his leg just above the knee, and has been
attended to, but shall be away for six weeks recuperating
in Hospital.

Greece: Hermes heads "clear" vs. "poor" impression by
Stan Fairchild[_3_]
Relative to the my earlier posting about a 25 L lilac Hermes head with what
looked like a "clear" impression, the owner and I have now decided it must
just be a good copy of the later, "poor" impression stamp. Thanks, Blair.
I've assembled the better images from the links provided by Blair, and...

Greece 25 L lilac Hermes by
Stan Fairchild[_3_]
A friend has a 25 L lilac Hermes head that appears to be what Scott calls a
"clear" impression. Yet Scott only lists the 25 L lilac with a "poor"
impression.
The image of both a "poor" impression 25 L and the stamp in question is at:

Why I started collecting postage stamps by
jim
Hello:
It seems the subject of postage stamp collecting only favors the old
timers for now. I have seen a post to the group about 'the simpsons'
getting on stamps or is that labels ? Seems the US Postage is off on
another wild goose chase making labels for kids sticker books. I may
be wrong as I...

Toke Nørby
At 4 pm today Ann Mette Heindorff's step daughter phoned me with the
sad news that Mette passed away last night. She lost the fight against
a lung cancer.
May she rest in peace.

Iranian stamp destruction by
Ryan Davenport
We've discussed the recent trend away from collectible used stamps
due to the inability to save them off cover - self-adhesive stamps that
are almost impossible to remove from paper, the new Machin stamps with
the security cut-outs, etc. I recently received a stamp catalogue from
Iran that had...
