American Eagle Coin Sets by
Dennis G. Rears
I just got an advertisement in the mail from the US Mint about the 20th
Anniversary sets. There are three sets:
1) Silver - contains the regular proof and uncirculated 2006 silver Eagle
with W mint mark and a "reverse proof" with P mint mark for $100.00 in a
"really good case". Essentially...

Us State Quarters Program by
Demiurge
Is there an official site devoted to images of these? Also, what was the
event that triggered the setup of this program?
I note that the program has been extended to include the US Territories and
the District of Columbia. As a matter of curiosity (I'm a Brit), if, say,
Puerto Rico voted to apply...

? Japanese Coin by
ss
I have a 0.75 oz (tr) assay proven 24 karat gold piece.
I suspect it's bullion rather than coinage.
My dad obtained it in 1945 when he was an officer in the Phillipines. He
received it from a Japanese Colonel whom he befriended. The coin is
somewhat smaller than a
U.S. 50 ct. Tried to send...

`Sevso' hoard by
Ian
A friend sent me this link. No coins involved, but worthy of posting
here as it shows the level of murk that can be involved with trade in
(what stacks up as being) looted goods.

Checking on ebay to see if I got a good deal I noticed some sets listed
had a circular mint token, and some had a octogtagon shaped mint token.
As you may of guessed I am new at this and havent seen any info on
this.
The one I got...

My boys and I were doing another round of our "coin draft" last night.
Each of them has the two Whitman Blue Lincoln Wheat Cents books. I have
accumulated from my stuff, my Dad's stuff and some other purchases a
couple of thousand wheats to search. They each get a blind pick per
round... if...

Is My Coin Rare? by
Larry Cary
Hey all. I have never been to your group, but was hoping to get some
feedback. I have been throwing loose change in a bowl for a long time
and last night decided to count it. In the process of doing so, I found
a 1941 dime. I think it is called a Mercury Head. It is very clean for
as long as...
