A case of stamp over kill by
Ralphael1
Looking at my favorite dealers stock of stamps I see that his listing
of Guinea stamps from October 16, 2007 thru May 5, 2008 has fifty-six
stamp issues. Every one has the topic of Scouts. All the issues are
either $5+, $13+ or $21+. i suppose they put forth their efforts to
snag some real...

(RCSD) Another film about the post by
Blair (TC)
The Rocket Post (2004) (UK)
(Based On True Story)
This film is about a German rocket scientist going
to a remote Scottish island to help develop a rocket
for improving the postal service.
The scenery is breathtaking. Blue skies, white sand,
green pastures and authentic cottages are just a few

Mother Russia - Solzhenitsyn (Was: 1/2 Dozen Other Titles) by
[email protected]
Just to show that I'm not totally ignorant about his plight, I was
introduced to Solzhenitsyn through a song, by Renaissance, on their
"Turn of the Cards" 1974 album. The Title: "Mother Russia"

U.S. and Samoa: old topic by
Stan Fairchild
George Herring's "From Colony to Superpower" arrived under my Christmas tree
this year. On pp. 262 and 263 is an explanation of the U.S. interest in
Samoa, about which RCSD questions were raised in late 2008.
The U.S. civil war led to increased sugar cultivation in Hawaii, much or all
by U.S....

Precancelled US by
Graham Gilbert
I have stumbled across a US postage Due (Sc D82) bearing a precancel from
Columbus Ohio. Why, pray tell, would the post office precancel these (when
logic tells you they really don't even need to be cancelled, as they serve
no purpose for re-use as postage) and how common would this practice...

am happy with that, NO complaint Mr. Google....However I do have big
complaints to the Page Expired thing.
I find it much easier to X out of the group after reading a post then
signing back in. It is a piece of cake now that no...

1949 GB rate question by
[email protected]
I recently bought a Stanley Gibbons cornercard cover posted from London
to Columbo, Ceylon. It is imprinted "ADVANCE NOTICE" and is franked
with a 1d KGVI definitive. Would that be the correct rate for what I
assume is a bulk mailing? Seems cheap!

Y&T vs. Scott by
Dakota
Quick question about Y&T vs. Scott.
I note that Y&T gives minor/major status (I think, I’m still
struggling with Y&T) to lots of imperfs that Scott only mentions. I
also notice that Y&T apparently ignores lots of souvenir sheets that
Scott gives minor status to.
How do those who use Y&T...

In the Vanpex exhibit I mentioned in my earlier post today, I will be
including covers that I mailed during training at Camp Pendleton, from
the U.S.S. Magoffin in the middle of the...
